Responsibilities

  1. Assist with the development of regional networks of ACC congregations and ACC groups.
  2. Encourage regional networks to develop patterns of governance which suit their region but also comply with the constitution of the Assembly of Confessing Congregations.
  3. Support and resource local initiatives that agree with the Charter of the Assembly of Confessing Congregations and further the confessional cause within the Uniting Church.
  4. Encourage a judicious and prudent involvement in the councils of the Uniting Church and advise against making proposals in these councils that will harm the confessional cause or frustrate the objectives of the Assembly of Confessing Congregations.
  5. Assist ACC congregations and ACC groups to answer institutional challenges, which question our commitment to the Uniting Church.
  6. Encourage ACC congregations and ACC Groups within each network to develop ways of furthering the confessional cause within the Uniting Church.
  7. Promote the recommendations and advice of the other ACC Commissions among the State Networks.
  8. Further the work of the Prayer Network under the following terms of reference:
    1. To call and encourage the ACC to be a people of  unceasing prayer.
    2. To provide prayer support for individuals, congregations, networks, commissions, the national executive and the mission of the church as a whole.
    3. To foster relationships with other prayer networks in Australia and around the world.
    4. To offer, prayerfully discerned prophetic words from scripture and individuals, to the ACC leadership for its consideration in relation to the future direction of the ACC.
    5. To develop and maintain a regular national prayer diary.
    6. To assist the ACC executive in organising worship services during ACC meetings and other special ACC national gatherings.
  9. Further the work of the Association of Ministry Workers under the following terms of reference.
