The Adelaide & Environs Winter 2008 Visit of Rev. Dr. Max Champion

At the invitation of the ACC-SA movement, Rev Dr Max Champion visited Adelaide and Murray Bridge over the weekend of 6th - 8th of June.

The aim of the visit was to bring ACC members up to date with issues in the ACC and promote the national ACC Assembly in September. Max spoke at two seminars on the topic of "The New Tolerance", preached at Tusmore Memorial UC, visited with the Moderator and was interviewed for New Times (SA Synod paper).

"Max continues to inspire and bring insight into the theological issues we are facing. It was a great encouragement to us in South Australia having Max visit Adelaide." said Rev Dr Phil Marshall. During Max's visit a new regional ACC group (CLUSTER) was formed at Murray Bridge.

Rev Rod James, ACC field worker, is touring Eyre Peninsular and the South East regions of SA to promote the national Assembly.

The Anniversary of the Uniting Church in Australia

The Uniting Church in Australia is celebrating its 31st Anniversary on Sunday, June 22, 2008. We encourage UC congregations all over the country to use the "Confessing Christ from the Basis of Union" in worship to mark the occasion. The Uniting Church was formed on 22 June 1977 when the Congregational, Methodist and Presbyterian churches united. The first service, held on the 26th of June, was broadcast live around Australia on ABC television.

Are you a member of the ACC? Would you like to join?

Individuals can join the ACC as Supporting Members. There are three important reasons for becoming a Supporting Member, even if your congregation has already joined:

1) Your faith in Jesus Christ is by nature a personal and public confession. When relativism and pluralism abound, it is meaningful for individual Christians to publicly and personally identify with the Christian confessing movement.

2) When you are an individual Supporting Member all ACC communications come to you directly, e.g. the ACC Newsletter and the monthly ACC Prayer Diary. You also receive the quarterly magazine, ACCatalyst.

3) Through your individual Supporting Membership subscription you are giving vital financial support to the work of the ACC. Additional personal donations are also an important part of the ACC budget.

An ACC individual “supporting membership” form can be downloads from the website or ringing the National Office.

Have a happy and holy Christmas as you celebrate the birth of our Lord.
