SA ACC News

Report on the Prayer Retreat held at Halbury Emmaus Campsite on Thursday May 6th and Friday 7th May, led by Mandy Scott with the prayer team.

A "Restoration Retreat" May 6 & 7th Halbury South Australia.

What a very special time was had by all, as we came together in this very special gather place. To meet with each other, get to know new people, learn more about God, listen to His voice to us and join in Prayer and Intercession. A time of personal restoration, transformation and renewal, that God set aside for us to spend time with the Him, away from busy lives and ministry. We were all challenged in our personal relationship with the Lord, allowing Him to mould and make us as He Himself chose, in order that we could be more effective for His use.

Have you ever asked the question, how can I be more effective in praying for Prodigals and the Lost?

"The lost will not and indeed cannot be saved unless someone prays for them."

1 Timothy 2 : 3 - 4 This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who want all meant to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. "That none should perish" is a powerful reminder of our call to pray and intercede for others.

Praying through scripture is one way that we can enrich our prayers

God responds to his own Word. We can take general promises from the Bible and using the words of Scripture, and pray as if we expect God will fulfil them for us personally.

It will not return to Him void so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11).

We were challenged and empowered in our call to be people of vision. How do we see a concern and feel God's heart about something/s that need restoration and renewal and become a people of vision? What are those things that bother us about the way things are or the way things are headed? That can lead us to pray for ourselves individually, family, community, and leads us to pray for the church.

Visions are born in the soul of a man or a woman who is consumed with the tension between what is and what could be.

There are far more needs in the church and the world than any of us has time or energy to meet, and no one is required to try to relieve them all, but what is God specifically calling each of us, individually and corporately to pray about and seek God for solutions?

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, let us continue to be stirred in our faith, sharpened by God's Word and be effective for His service.

Prayer for the Ephesians
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name.  SA ACC Events

A regular feature of the SA ACC Movement this year is a continuation of the 'Dig Here' seminars. The Burke and Wills "Dig Tree" is one of Australia's national icons. It is an enduring reminder of our pioneering spirit. A supply camp was occupied awaiting the return of the ill-fated Burke and Wills expedition. When the supply camp was abandoned food and supplies were
buried at the base of the tree in the hope that the expedition would find it and live. Our "Dig Here" regional meetings are an opportunity for us to dig deeper into our faith and find life in Jesus.

The first seminar was held at Halbury on the 8th May, and the second at Tea Tree Gully Uniting Church on 26th June (before the 2010 AGM). A third is planned for Waikerie Uniting Church in the Riverland. Look for more information about these.

For those of you in the Northern Suburbs there is a small group gathering for study and prayer in the Enfield area. For more details ring Les & Joan Knowling on (08) 8162 5959.

Members are welcome to attend ACC SA committee meetings. Our meeting dates are located on the ACC Calendar.

We have been meeting at Glenunga Uniting Church at 1:00 pm. While this works well for our current members, (some of whom travel very long distances to be there), this may not work for the new committee to be installed at the AGM on 26th June. A discussion will take place at the AGM about this. For more information please contact me.

"PRAYER FOCUS" ~ "When trouble strikes"

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7) NIV

Have you ever handled a fisherman's net? A real fisherman's net is bulky, heavy, difficult to handle and if not cleaned properly, stinks. This
particular passage from 1 Peter and thinking about a fisherman's net, can teach us very valuable lessons about casting my cares, upon the Lord.

This passage was written by Peter. He was a fisherman. We can see by his writing that his livelihood affected his ministry and his writings. The word Peter uses here for "cast" is not used often in scripture. If we keep this in mind now as we imagine... we are Peter. We're in a boat, floating on a vast body of water. Our method of fishing is not the rod and reel. Instead, we have this tangled, twisted mass that is our net. It's heavy and
burdensome. It's hard to work by ourselves. Even so, we take this soggy, cumbersome thing and we fling it away from ourselves. Casting it out upon the sea. Then the waiting begins, to see what will be caught in the net.we have no idea. What will be brought back to us?

Today perhaps, the net represents our personal "cares," our anxieties...whatever is weighing us down. On concerns of heart for ACC, UCA,
Church, community or family. The net representing our twisted mass of cares.

Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

I believe the Lord is encouraging us, as members of ACC to "cast our cares" upon the one who has the power and wisdom to deal with the issues we face each day nationally, personally and corporately. Then we will see how our awesome God will move on our behalf.

PRAYER POINTS FOR SA.

But we prayed to our God and posted a guard day and night to meet this threat. (Nehemiah 4:9)

. Pray for protection of new vision and initiatives in SA, to reach young people and young emerging leadership with our SA Emerging ACC Leaders
Award ~ and high-quality camp.

. Pray for our ACC~SA leadership, for encouragement, wisdom and strength.

. Pray that people may hear about, and have hearts quickened to the new move of God in our state.

. Pray for protection of events planned for 2010, and the networking in our state of all individuals and congregations. That we may show we
care, being a listening hear, helping and serve where we can.

. Pray for each congregation and cluster. That each may be an empowered and alive congregations. Standing strong as 'proclaimers of the
faith'

. Pray for the Prayer Network, now called "PrayerNet" that the foundations of the Prayer Network continue to be established, linking and
netting all individuals, congregations and clusters and encouraging /networking prayer.

. Rejoice and give thanks for new growth and initiatives.

. And in all things give God thanks.
