JULY 2010 Prayer Diary

We give thanks to God that Rev. Dr. Max Champion was able to represent the ACC within the UCA during the 2010 ‘Make it Count’ Webcast from Canberra, where Christians were able to ask questions and raise concerns with Kevin Rudd and Tony Abbott.
We pray for our new Prime Minister and our leaders in Government - National, State and local.
We pray for continued strength and wisdom for Max as he responds on behalf of the ACC to the UCA Assembly regarding the ‘sacred union ceremony’ and the deliberate push by some to change the church’s understanding and practice of marriage.
We give thanks to God for our new web convenor Rev. Wayne McHugh from Proserpine. We pray for Wayne and Anne Weeks as they seek to work together with John Faulds (web designer) to develop a new website ‘Uniting Views’, functioning as an important centre for church (not just ACC members) to go for information and discussion. The new website will also help crystallise the vision of the ACC.
We pray for the ‘Engaging the Basis’ Conference in Melbourne 9-11 July. A number of ACC members will be present at that conference.
We pray for people as they prayerfully consider giving generously to our ‘Funding for growth’ appeal to support a full-time National Director, provide support and development for youth ministry, ACCatalyst and further publication of ACC study material
Please pray for the following meetings coming up:
6th July SA ACC Movement Committee: 1 pm Glenunga UC. The first meeting following our AGM on June 26. Please pray that God will raise up and strengthen new leaders for our state movement, as Phil Marshall and Ian Croft finish their period as Convenor and Secretary. We give thanks for their excellent service.
16 July Cranbourne ACC Cluster Meeting 12.30 pm Mon 19th - Fri 23rd
New Creation Teaching Ministry School on the theme Shepherds after God's own heart. Pray that those in ministry will have time to attend and be built up in the word of Christ.
24 July ACC Victoria Regional Seminar - Living Faith Church (Greensborough)
26 July ACC National Council Meeting – teleconference.
28th July Adelaide Northern Suburbs Cluster meeting. Pray for encouragement and up-building for this group of faithful believers who serve largely in congregations with 'progressive' ministers.
Please remember Rod and Shirley James in your prayers as they head to New Zealand for 2 weeks leave with Shirley's family - Tuesday 27th.
Pray for our new ACC SA emerging Leaders Award. For Don Purdey and his leadership. For a spreading of the enthusiasm and people to offer support. For monetary support. Pray that the word will be spread and young people's hearts to be quickened to this new possibility for them.
Pray for the areas reached with our encouragement through "Dig Here" to continue to have a sense of support and encouragement for their ministry as they seek to "Build Lives and Transform Communities". Pray for field workers.
Pray for the "PrayerNet" SA that they will continue to encourage and support individuals in prayer ministry and also the ministry of prayer encouraged in churches and ministries.

Our heavenly Father we offer to you these particular prayers for this month - July 2010. We ask that you will continue to guide us and our work through the ACC so that your name will be honoured and glorified through all that we do. We ask this is Jesus name. Amen.
