Acts 1:14
"They all joined together constantly in prayer ... and Mary the mother of Jesus."

Jesus' earthly ministry had embarrassed His human family.
Now Mary, after the resurrection has to believe in
the impossible becoming possible.
They were worshiping her son as the Son of God.

Here we have a graphic picture of the infant Church.
They all" joined together constantly in prayer."
We say "Let us pray."
They prayed "constantly."
The disciples were meeting together
every day and all day to pray and worship the risen Lord.

We are not sure if Mary was included in the wider circle of disciples numbering 120,
But she was a part of the New Church because John would have taken her

The phrase "with one accord" occurs constantly
in the early part of the Book of Acts.
The believers had a wonderful unity
that bound them together in Christ.
They "had all things in common."
This unity grew through the work of the Holy Spirit.
His work is to unify us in Christ.

Our church will not have unity in Christ,
as long as Christians are self-centred not Christ-centred.
The early Church was Christ-centred
because they believed the words of Jesus
as passed on to them by the Apostles' teachings.
