Fullness in Christ

23rd August 2010

SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 5/32

Col 2:10
"And you have been given fullness in Christ."

Our sense of "fullness" is real
only because we have been given
"fullness in Christ".
Also the joy of the Lord is found
in what we "have been given,"
and not in what we have achieved or received.
The Word says that
"all things work together for those
who are called according to His purposes."
To accomplish His purposes we must turn them
into our achieving.

Although we receive "fullness in Christ,"
there are times when Jesus holds His "fullness"
back from us
because we are not yet ready to receive it.

Are we like children and comfortable with milk,
when all the time we need meat?
Milk flows smoothly and easily down our throats,
but we must work hard at digesting meat.

What a joy it is to know that
"all the fullness of Christ"
is always available to us,
and that this is a gift from God
that we "have been given".
It is readily available to us,
but it will come first as milk and then as meat.
The Word speaks
"We have been baptised into Jesus Christ...
let us walk in newness of life".
