SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-30

ROMANS 10:17

"Faith comes from hearing,
and hearing comes by the Word of God".

Here Paul is not writing about that first initial step
when we accepted Jesus as Lord.
That step was our act of faith.
Jesus called and we accepted by that act of faith.

Here the Word is speaking about our own personal,
ongoing faith growth.
This is our experiences, and it comes from
"hearing...the Word of God".
As we hear the word read.
through this, and our responding, our faith increases.

Some of the Old Testament passages read
on a Sunday are gruesome,
but somewhere in these, or in the Epistles, or in the Gospels
there is always a growth message for us.

This is the task of the Holy Spirit who succeeds
provided we have eyes that are open,
ears that are unstopped,
and hearts that are not hardened
by worldly pressures.
Always it is through, the Living Word of God

This is the way God has planned it.
The Word of God is wholly open to the Holy Spirit
and He interprets that Word
for our immediate,
and ongoing needs.
After all He is the Spirit of Truth
who will lead us into all of God's Truth.
