SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 7-40

Matt. 4:4
"People do not live by bread alone
but by every word
that comes from the mouth of God". (NLT)

The Living Word now speaks to us from the Old Testament.
They are words that Jesus used to defeat Satan.

"Bread" represents our food,
that which is essential for our very existence.

But there are more important things for us than our food,
in spite of all the "chef" programmes on our TV.

The Living Word contains
"every word that comes from the mouth of God".
That means not only all those words recorded in the gospels
but "every word" ,meaning every communication
we receive from God through the Holy Spirit.

How much time do we spend
in shopping for, preparing
and eating our "bread" each day?
Let not the TV determine our essential needs.
It is God we need more than food.

Yes Jesus fed the 5000
on the shores of the Lake of Galilee,
but when the people wanted more he said to them
"I am the living bread
that comes down from heaven".

We must eat in moderation but feast on the
"true bread of Heaven".
