MINISTRY SHOW BAG No 2

Arrange a Christmas Workshop and Create Nativity Figurines.

Why not arrange a workshop day at your Church or Community Centre to create a nativity scene that can later be placed in the window of your home or another public venue. Your nativity decoration and reminder of the meaning of Christmas would be a simple, fun way of bringing people together while raising awareness of the coming season.
Cut out cardboard figures of the nativity scene. Place them behind a white cloth or sheet then backlight them to gain a sharp silhouette. (See Pic attached) If you have the equipment or an experienced artist, clay modelling and firing over 3-4 sessions could provide another option.

Mouse Makes----a handy resource.

This simple, one page A4 worksheet for children is ideal for small churches with young children. Without a lot of preparation, this worksheet that can be photocopied provides an easy "cut-out" or "activity" around a Biblical theme that a teacher or parent can use as a talking point while they engage the children. eg Make a medal (Run your best, 1 Tim 6.12) Collect various seeds (God gives life/seeds). Cut out special card (Remember to Praise and Thank God , Psalms) Free sample sheets available. Email: .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

Bill Muehlenberg: Story and valuable Resource.

Born in America in 1953 Bill was raised in a nominal Christian home but then turned his back on religion. He often felt empty and unhappy. His search for truth led him to explore cosmic consciousness, the New Age movement and eastern religions. Bill said, "It was all part of a quest I was on-- a journey to find truth and ultimate reality." Eventually in a rather dramatic way Bill encountered Jesus Christ and found a reason for faith after reading books by C.S. Lewis and Francis Schaeffer. By God's grace Bill Muehlenberg's life was transformed and today as a pro-family blogger he uses his sharp intellect to analyse the complex issues of our day on his Culture Watch blog. To keep informed on the issues of the day it is suggested you visit http://www.billmuehlenberg.com

Prayer Resource "We wrestle not against flesh and blood" (Eph 6:12.)

With persecution escalating and intensifying globally it is important to raise Congregations awareness of the prayer needs of Christians around the world. Roughly 200 million Christians today live in contexts of pressure and persecution. Many face discrimination because of their faith. An up to date, well researched account of Christian persecution is provided by the Evangelical Alliance Religious Liberty Commission via Elizabeth Kendal. Elizabeth is Adjunct Research Fellow in the Centre for the Study of Islam and other Faiths at the Melbourne School of Theology.
