The Peace of God

21st November 2010

SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 5/ 42

Phil 4:11
"The peace of God, which passes all understanding
will keep your minds in Christ Jesus."

"The peace of God" is not just about God the Father
but God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Isaiah calls Jesus "the prince of peace".
Paul says "the kingdom of God is righteousness
and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."

This "peace" is God created and God given
therefore it "passes all understanding."
We must stop thinking that peace come from the world
when we accept God's gift of peace.
The gift is not dissipated around the world
but it is His personal gift for us.
It is a part of being "in Christ Jesus".
When Jesus offers us His peace He said
"not as the world gives."

Then we hear these wonderful words "will keep".
This promise is from the triune God's for us.
God "will keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."
To "keep" amongst other things means that He will
protect our "minds and hearts", from the evil one.

The words "in Christ Jesus" means
that as Jesus lives in our lives
so we live in Christ Jesus.
Paul declares to us,
"all things belong to you,
and you belong to Christ,
and Christ belongs to God."
