Trust - Steadfast Mind - Perfect Peace

SEEDS FOR HARVESTING 5/ 41

Psalm 26:3
"The steadfast mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace
because he trusts in you."

The King James Version says
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusts in Thee."
First comes "trust" which cultivates a "steadfast mind"
This steadfastness then results in "perfect peace."

Trust in the New Testament means,
"An active continuing reliance on God
marked by a response to the Word." (Discovery Bible)
We rely on God because we know Him,
look to Him, talk to Him and are intimate with Him
because of our reliance upon His Word.
This reliance on His Word
is how we achieve a "steadfast mind".
This all comes about because we live in His Word day by day.
How much we need this "steadfast mind" in our day.
It is then that "trust" becomes meaningful for us.
And His love, forgiveness, consistency and
"perfect peace" begins to work in our lives.

Then comes "perfect peace".
How important this word "perfect" is.
Nothing of our day-by-day living
results in anything that is "perfect".
This perfection only comes from God,
it can only be of God.
We can never experience this "perfect peace"
unless we acknowledge that it comes from God,
and is His gift to us.
He is our "perfect peace".
